colombian-american artist, luisa vargas, draws inspiration from the brightness of her cultural identity and her need to be among the mountains, rivers, dirt, desserts, and wildflowers. as a self-taught artist, her acrylic and watercolor work explores many themes of nature and humanity, how they are interwoven, and how we often see the “natural world” as being separate from us rather than being a part of us.
some things that bring her delight include exploring country roads on her surly crosscheck bike, running or hiking through the silence of deserted trails, savoring the flavors of other cultures, a good book and conversations with friends, or strangers, over some kind of brew.
